We are a registered Texas Professional Engineering Firm (Firm #14614, P.E. 66872) based in De Kalb, Texas. GroundArrayUSA opened its doors in response to local requests after we engineered and constructed our own customized solar solutions. Our primary turn-key focus is on Bowie County, Jack County, Wise County, and Palo Pinto County, with service expanding to other regions by appointment.
With a background of over 35 years designing and constructing large-scale national communications and utility networks, we bring unmatched rigour to residential and commercial energy systems. We help homeowners, farmers, ranchers, and business owners secure backup power, eliminate escalating utility bills, and establish a sustainable energy future.
Unless a home is structurally designed and built to support the weight and angle of solar panels, we prefer not to load your roof. If you have land, ground-mounting is superior in every way.
Zero roof penetrations. Avoid structural stress, roof leaks, and the massive cost of removing panels when you need to re-shingle your home.
Roofs force a fixed angle and direction. Ground arrays can be sited at the perfect compass heading and pitch to maximize solar gain year-round.
Keep your panels clear of dust, leaves, and snow without ever climbing a ladder. Siting batteries, inverters, and well-controls at chest level keeps hardware safe and easily accessible.
We specialize in designing and placing systems on custom steel racks and concrete pads to keep hardware isolated from your main structures.
For residential ranch homes, we prioritize keeping high-voltage electronics outside the home structure. In this layout, the hybrid inverter, utility meter base, and backup transfer switch are mounted along the side of the house at the primary service entrance.
Non-Structural Mounting: Crucially, the equipment rack does not attach to or penetrate the home siding. Instead, it is mounted on a heavy-duty free-standing structural steel rack system embedded in concrete footings, protecting your house while keeping the service loop short and safe.
Stable blocks and training arenas have high lighting and ventilation loads, often located far from the main residential meter. Siting a ground array system next to the arena provides local, stable power.
Generator Integration: Similar to the ranch home, all solar inverters, transfer switches, and battery cabinets are mounted on a heavy ground-mounted rack. To support extended grid failures during storm seasons, a standalone dual-fuel or diesel generator is integrated on a dedicated concrete ground pad.
Rural properties depend heavily on water wells and high-amperage workshop tools (compressors, welders). Siting a solar array at the shop barn serves double-duty: powering your hobbies and keeping the well running during blackouts.
Well Pump Backup: The solar array panels are ground-mounted, feeding into an inverter rack at the shop. We run heavy-duty cabling to backup the well pump, preventing loss of water supply to your homestead and livestock even when the main grid goes completely dark.
Outdoor entertainment areas are prime candidates for dedicated solar setups. Pool heaters, pumps, outdoor refrigeration, and summer cooling put a heavy strain on your main homestead electrical service.
Dedicated Entertainment Sourcing: Siting a compact ground array and battery rack on a small pad behind the pool house isolates these variable seasonal loads. It ensures your pool filtration and cooling run cleanly on local solar energy, without increasing your residential utility tier rates.

Best to eliminate utility costs and support moderate homesteads.
Every system is fully customizable and expandable to suit your location.
Best used to offset utility consumption and provide security during outages.
Designed to offset 100% of standard electric costs and support full-homestead grid outages.
Heavy-duty power plant for large rances, farms, heavy ag equipment, and businesses.
A typical ground array takes approximately 6 weeks from a signed proposal to final power-on and client training.
We visit your homestead to inspect the topography, measure sun shading, review your past 12-month utility bills, and outline critical loads (like well pumps and HVAC).
Our engineering team designs the exact structural grounding, electrical paths, and selects components. You receive a fully itemized proposal with clear budget tiers.
Review the design details and structural calculations with your local bank for financing options and your CPA to finalize 2026 tax rebate carryforwards.
We order the components through Signature Solar. While shipping occurs, we prepare the ground array location, install concrete footings, and construct the steel frame.
Our crew mounts the solar panels and conduits. A licensed local electrician completes the backup switch, battery connections, well-controls, and utility tie-ins.
We commission the system, test safety cut-offs, load charge parameters, and spend hours training you exactly how to operate, monitor, and configure the backup features.
The incentives for residential solar installations have transitioned in 2026 after the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) on July 4, 2025.
The standard federal residential solar tax credit has expired for direct consumer purchases of solar systems placed in service on or after January 1, 2026. However, any carryover amounts from systems installed prior to December 31, 2025, are likely applicable to offset your tax liability.
While the personal tax credit (Section 25D) has ended, the commercial solar credit (Section 48E) remains active. Solar leasing or Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) allow developers to utilize the tax credit and pass savings directly to consumers through reduced rental rates.

Consult Your Tax Professional: Siting ground arrays on active agricultural land or farms can sometimes open commercial classification options. Consult your tax preparer.
Here are common questions we receive regarding ground arrays, battery storage, and solar installations.
Our focus is strictly on constructing ground array systems. Unless a home was specifically engineered from the ground up to support solar panels, we prefer not to load your structure. Ground-mounting on your land is safer, maximizes efficiency, and avoids structural stress or leak hazards.
We are a division of Advisory Engineering & Analytics, LLC (a registered Texas Engineering Firm). We opened our doors after completing our own complex ground array setup on our homestead, focusing primary services on Bowie, Jack, Wise, and Palo Pinto counties, and surrounding regions in TX, AR, and OK by appointment.
EG4 power electronics, lithium batteries, and balancing equipment are field-proven and extremely reliable. Best of all, Signature Solar is based nearby in Sulphur Springs, Texas. If a part needs to be replaced under warranty or serviced, we can secure it within hours—rather than waiting weeks for overseas shipping, which is critical during storm and harvest seasons.
